Belsay Hall and Castle were our favourite stop of the day.
Mr. M found a friend to be photographed with. "Would you just take our picture...?"
May Day Bank Holiday weekend, we headed into Northumberland, to visit ruins.

Scenic location and plenty to explore. We even had to make use of a torch inside the castle.
Aydon Castle
A few miles south of Belsay, is Aydon Castle. (Not easy to find
without a map).

Prudhoe Castle
Finally Prudhoe Castle. This was a big disappointment, compared to our previous locations.
Very little to explore and over-run with rugrats, to whom it is mostly
aimed.
We enjoyed the quieter area around the old watermill.
